Middletown Government:

Middletown is governed by a five-member Township Committee, and each member serves for three years. Each year, the Committee selects one of its members to serve as Mayor for a one-year term. The primary responsibility of the Committee is to supervise the operation of municipal government by establishing policies and programs and appropriating funds.

The Middletown Township Fire Department consists of eleven companies as well as special services, including an Air Support Unit, a Field Communications Unit, a Hazardous Materials Team, a Confined Space Team, a group of Fire Police, a children’s Fire Safety Trailer, and the Middletown Township Fire Academy. All special service units are comprised of and maintained by members from each of the eleven companies.
