The most populated municipality in Middlesex County with 97,203, Woodbridge is the oldest original township in the state and remained relatively small until the Garden State Parkway was built in the 1950s. Woodbridge Center Mall is one of the largest indoor climate controlled shopping malls on the East coast. Woodbridge has a total area of 24.2 square miles.

Woodbridge NJ Schools


The Woodbridge Township School District serves students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The district's 16 elementary schools (Mawbey St. School, Avenel St. School, Port Reading School, Ross St. School, Ford Ave. School, Indiana Ave. School, Menlo Park Terrace, Claremont Ave School, Oak Ridge Heights School, Lynn Crest School, Kennedy Park School, Lafayette Estates School, Robert Mascenik School, Pennsylvania Ave School and Matthew Jago School) serve students in Grades K through 5. The district has five middle schools (Avenel Middle School, Colonia Middle School, Fords Middle School, Iselin Middle School and Woodbridge Middle School) serving grades 6 through 8.


High schools in the district are Colonia High School, John F. Kennedy Memorial High School and Woodbridge High School for grades 9-12.
